UNILORIN undergraduate beats female lecturer to a pulp

A 400-Level student at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Warriz Said, popularly identified as Captain Walz, has reportedly beaten a female lecturer, Mrs Zakariyyah, to a pulp after an altercation on his academics. Walz who is a rapper failed to observe the mandatory Students Industrial Work Scheme (SIWES) and that meant he could not  graduate with his colleagues.

He allegedly tried lobbying his supervisor to grade him despite not observing SIWES and she refused.

It was gathered that her decision severely infuriated him.

Walz reportedly traced and chased down the lecturer to her office where he started punching her hard, assaulting her, and massively brutalizing her. While trying to escape, the lecturer reportedly fell down and was strangled by the student till she fell into coma.

The university’s director of public relations, Mr Kunle Akogun, confirmed the incident to reporters by telephone on Saturday night.

He said “a visit by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem; in company of UNILORIN Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Professor Oladiji; the Director, University Health Services, Dr Odunola; and also a few other staff to the victim; as well as her family, this morning, Saturday, confirmed that.”

“They described the incident as unfortunate and sad; and also assured justice will be done on the matter.

“He ordered proper care of the victim on the bill of the university”, Akogun added.

The university administration condemned the incident and vowed to take appropriate action.
