Police in Adamawa State have arrested 58-year-old woman, Hajarat Sini, for reportedly killing her husband’s sidekick in the Kwada Drambi region of the state.
On July 31, the suspect allegedly caught the dead in compromising situation with her spouse of more than 40 years. She then hit her to death with a stick.
S.K. Akande, the commissioner of police, said that when parading the suspect in Yola on Tuesday, August 9 that Hajaratu’s husband was covertly dating the deceased, who was a widow.
He claimed that the suspect broke into the deceased’s home to confront her about having an extramarital affair with her husband.
However, when she arrived the deceased home, she met her husband who fled when he saw her.
The deceased allegedly engaged the suspect in a brawl. The victim was then struck in the head with a stick by Hajaratu. The accused later chased after her husband in the heat of the moment.
It was the hit on the head during the brawl that led to her death.
Meanwhile, the Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory has rescued three alleged internet fraudsters from a mob in the Lokogoma area of Abuja.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement she issued on Thursday in Abuja.
She said the Commissioner of Police in charge of the FCT, Mr Babaji Sunday, had cautioned the public against jungle justice. Sunday said the act of resorting to jungle justice in quest for a solution to a problem was barbaric.
